Our next meeting with CPS is scheduled for this Friday. Our case woker called today and after some conversation she said they would wave our 24 hour waiting period and would let us meet the boys after our appointment on Friday!!!
It is so crazy to think that we will be meeting our three sons for the first time this Saturday! What do you wear to such an event?? Do we bring gifts for the kids or is that bribery to make them like us?? Will they like us or will the run and hide??
Holy cats!! We will have three young boys moving in with us in about two weeks!!! the pressure is on to wrap up projects. We have to finish their play area out back, build 3 bunk beds, have a new fence put in and a whole handful of other things I would like to do before they are here. I just want them to love it here and be happy, healthy boys!!

On the verge of going blind
We have been reviewing the case files in prep for our placement meeting. Two 4" binders stuffed full!! Crazy amounts of info on the boys and their history with CPS.
For anyone who may take this path, it is a hard read. Learning things that your future children have suffered is heart breaking to say the least. Will the kids remember these horrors? We're they removed before permanent damage was done? Will they have lasting effects from their exposure? No one has these answers.
We have been chosen for these boys through CPS and these boys were chosen for us by God. We know that this is God's will for our lives and that these are our children, even though we have never met them. God has paved this path just for us and he is continually making it clear that this is truly what he wants for us. Because of this, we know that we will love these children and it will all work out through Him.
Our placement meeting is tentatively scheduled for August 9. This is the meeting with all those involved in the boys lives...caseworkers, lawyers, and foster parents. They will give us all the info they have and we will ask questions about their past, family and their current schedule and needs.
We have a 24 hour mandatory waiting period before we can give our yes or no decision. We will say yes :-) after that, we will finally meet our three sons!!!

Hurry up and wait
Well, 15 days after CPS chose us to be the parents of these precious little boys, our agency has received their case file. They will review it and then get with us and help us go through all the details of their past.
Once we have done that, we will have our placement staffing. This will be a meeting with lawyers, case workers, casa worker and foster parents...all the people actively involved in the boy's lives at this moment. They will tell us all they know about the kids and their case and we can ask any and all questions.
This meeting is the life changer for us. We have a mandatory 24 hour waiting period before they will accept our answer of yes or no.
I am so excited I can hardly contain myself and yet crippled with fear about becoming an instant mom! I can envision life with our three sons...their smiles and laughter, enjoying their first times at so many things, it is a wonderful dream. Then I think, what if I am no good at this? No more quite moments, not having a schedule and doing as we please, always having someone need me. It is a huge change!!
I'm just going to take a leap of faith and trust that God has all this taken care of!!
Until then, I will work on my patience as I wait on CPS :-)

On the verge of...becoming parents!
Tonight my husband and I are in a bit of shock. We ventured into the adoption arena in September 2012. We decided we would like to adopt older kids from CPS and that we would like a sibling group of 2-4, preferably boys. Well, we got our wish!
At the end of June, we were chosen for a CPS selection staffing and we found out today that we were picked! By August, we are most likely going to be the proud parents of 3 boys ages 5, 3, and 20 months. We happen to be white and they are black so this will just add to our little adventure!
They are handsome young men deserving of all the best this world has to offer and I just pray to God that we can do right by them :-)
With this blog I will attempt to share the process of going from just the 2 of us, 2 black labs and our lovely quite world to a family of 5 plus 2 fur babies!!
We still have several things to go through before we give our final verdict of yes or no for the boys. We also have tons of things that we want to do in preparation for our instant family. July is going to be one CRAZY month!!
